SOLDER RECOVERY
HIGH SOLIDS/HIGH FLOW FILTRATION SYSTEM - 8/10-350-HS
STAND ALONE FILTRATION UNIT (SAF) SYSTEM FOR USE ON HIGH SOLIDS - HIGH ROSIN OR DUSTY/SMOKEY FLUX APPLICATIONS
Refer to EVS service department at service@evsinternational.com for when to use this option.
It has become apparent from EVS's experience that there is a significant move towards more aggressive higher solids fluxes when using lead free solders. To handle this new development EVS has designed and developed an all new High Solids High Flow Handling Filtration System
Part No 8/10-350-HS. This unit is designed to handle the significant increase in dust and heavier fume produced by lead free solders and the more aggressive rosin based fluxes. These fluxes have a much higher percentage of solids and produce significantly more smoke in the wave solder machine and when the solder dross is being recycled. To combat this EVS has developed a substantially larger filtration system which can handle increased air flow, increased solids, dust and smoke production.
Advantages of the New High Solids Filtration System:
- A significant increase in the air flow through the filtration system means that higher quantities of smoke and fume are captured by the filtration system.
- The new larger capacity filtration system will enhance the longevity of the filters by several fold over the previous SAF.
- A LED monitoring system constantly monitors the air flow through the filtration warning by indicator LED’s of an impending filter change in advance of a reduction in efficiency.
- Reduces the service requirements of the filtration system by reducing the number of filters from four to two and increasing the dust and fume handling capacity anywhere from 6 to 10 times the current filtration system.
- Reduces parts stock holding from 4 to 2 and significantly reduces waste filter handling for operatives.
Conclusion
The new high solids filtration system increases air flow and dust/smoke capture, whilst maintaining the small footprint of the new four wheel steer cart with its pull out service drawer. It is complete with an LED monitoring system which shows a Green Light for normal running, an Amber Light when 75% of the combination filter is used and a Red Light when the Combination Filter should be changed.
This filtration system improves all aspects of the EVS working practices and enhances the EVS as the premier solder recovery system available in the world today.
With its unique simplicity of operation and high recovery rates the EVS gives fast payback, pure solder quality, improves process by reducing shorts and bridging, significantly improve wave solder machine productivity and enhances your company’s ability to attain and retain ISO 14001 the corporate environmental standard.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
PLEASE REPLACE THE FILTERS WITHIN THESE SCHEDULES AS INCORRECTLY MAINTAINED FILTERS WILL BLOCK THE AIR FLOW TO THE FAN.
These figures are advisory and will vary with adherence to cleaning and service schedules and on fluxes and processes in use at each location.
Weekly Maintenance Schedule
EACH WEEK please VACUUM each filter in the filter stack and INSIDE the EVS. This will greatly enhance the effectiveness and longevity of the filters and pay dividends in the increased life of filters and EVS.
PLEASE REPLACE IN CORRECT ORDER
WARNING : MACHINE TO BE POWERED OFF BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO CHANGE FILTERS
When the filter is removed from the machine please remember to wear gloves and mask. Then it should be SEALED in a plastic bag and disposed of in an environmentally safe manner. Thank you.
Fuse Replacement
The Stand Alone Filter has its own 2 amp fuse for electrical protection. This is housed in a small push out fuse holder located adjacent to the power switch.
