EVS SOLDER RECOVERY

5000-200-COMBI - FILTER FOR THE STAND ALONE FILTRATION (SAF) SYSTEM FOR USE ON ALL EVS1000/3000/6000/7000/9000 MODELS

EVS has designed and developed a combination filter for fitting into the existing Stand Alone Filter System used on all EVS 1000/3000/6000/7000/9000. This will replace the first three filters in the four filter SAF, which are First Filter Part Number 5000-200-1, Filtrete Filter Part Number 5000-200-2 and Bag Filter Part Number 5000-200-3. These three filters have been replaced by one Combination Filter Part Number 5000-200-Combi. The filters within the Stand Alone Filter System will now comprise of two filters only.

This combination filter has been extensively tested over the past year in Europe and Asia.

Advantages

• Considerably enhanced dust holding ability of the stand alone filter whilst reducing resistance to air flow resulting in significant extension of the as new air flow capability.
• Significant increase in the life of the combi filter up to eight times the life expectancy of the previous first and second filter.
• Reduced handling and cleaning of filters by the extended longevity of the new combination filter.
• Reduced parts stock holding (2 filters not 4 filters) and filter waste handling.

Conclusion

The combination filter, increased air flow and dust/smoke capture improves all aspects of the EVS working practices and enhances the EVS as the premier solder recovery system available in the world today. With its unique simplicity of operation and high recovery rates the EVS gives fast payback, pure solder quality, improves process by reducing shorts and bridging, significantly improve wave solder machine productivity and enhances your company’s ability to attain and retain ISO 14001 the corporate environmental standard.

Old Configuration

The filters used in the standalone filtration unit (see Figure 1) are as follows:

a)	First Filter 5000-200-1	Specially constructed unidirectional filter media.
b)	Filtrete Pad 5000-200-2	Electrostatically activated unidirectional smoke particulate filter.
c)	Bag/Panel Filter 5000-200-3-BAG	Pleated panel filter specially treated to hold 50% more solids. (Fit open side up with direction arrow pointing down)
d)	Carbon Filter 5000-200-4	Impregnated, activated carbon deep bed split into 9 equal cells. Specially constructed moulded polypropylene with bonded material membrane. Weight approximately 5kg. (Fit with direction arrow pointing down)

High Power Filter - Filter Replacement Schedule

The fume filter is replaced by undoing the latches holding the top of the Stand Alone Filtration unit. Remove the top to expose the filters, VACUUM AS YOU REMOVE. Gently remove the filters depositing them in a sealed plastic bag (NB: these are to be disposed of as hazardous waste). Seal the bag before replacing the filters with new product.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

PLEASE REPLACE THE FILTERS WITHIN THESE SCHEDULES AS INCORRECTLY MAINTAINED FILTERS WILL BLOCK THE AIR FLOW TO THE FAN. THIS WILL CUT OUT ON ITS SAFETY PROTECTION GREATLY REDUCING THE FAN LIFE AND INVALIDATING WARRANTY.

These figures are advisory and will vary with adherence to cleaning and service schedules and on fluxes and processes in use at each location. No Clean Fluxes and Low Solids may extend the schedule above.

Weekly Maintenance Schedule

 Each week please VACUUM each filter in the filter stack and INSIDE the EVS. This will greatly enhance the effectiveness and longevity of the filters and pay dividends in the long run.

ALL FILTERS ARE UNIDIRECTIONAL AND MUST BE FITTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE SERVICE MANUAL.

PLEASE REPLACE IN CORRECT ORDER AND ALIGNMENT

WARNING : When the filter is removed from the machine please remember to wear gloves and mask. Then it should be SEALED in a plastic bag and disposed of safely.

Fuse Replacement

The Stand Alone Filter has its own 2 amp fuse for electrical protection. This is housed in a small push out fuse holder located just above the on off switch
