Dross production calculations
75 % of solder thrown away as dross!!
Hard to believe isn't
it.
In our experience
companies vary rarely receive full credit for
solder dross and therefore, do not know how much they produce
unless they weigh it themselves. It is in the interests of the solder
producers to manipulate the credit price and volume of the dross produced
in order to appear to give the "best available deal". The only
argument that is consistent is the amount spent on Solder on a monthly/yearly
basis.
Once the EVS machine
is in place you can calculate
the amount of dross being produced from the savings
being made as follows:
% dross made x % solder
recovered from dross = % reduction in solder purchased.
Therefore
% dross made = % reduction
in solder purchased / % solder recovered from dross.
The
following are three real customer examples showing just how much dross
is produced:
Example 1: Ericsson
% reduction in solder
purchased = 50%
% solder recovered from dross = 59%
=> % dross made
= 50% / 59% = 85%
Example 2: Mars
Electronics
% reduction in solder
purchased = 50%
% solder recovered from dross = 60%
=> % dross made
= 50% / 60% = 83%
Example 3: AB
Automotive Electronics Ltd
Pre EVS solder usage
per month = 1300 kg
Pre EVS dross production per month = 990 kg
=> % dross made
= 76%
With so much Dross calculate
what you could be saving ...
